gyroscope. - Scalectrix ep
This is gyroscope. debut ep, a 5 tracker and is a very fine effort. The production is first class and overall the songs sound a heap better than their demo cassette of last year. This album shows the boys sounding more emo than their demo and the progression in not only the song structure but the lyrics is obvious. However there is a little similarity in the songs, with the general pattern being each song has a mellow/slow bit midway thru which I think is mainly due to these songs being the bands first attempts at the emo sound. Apart from this a top effort with the title track the one that does it for me, S4 and Skill Degree are also very good. This will definately ensure gyroscope. gain a heap of new fans and with the boys finalising a record deal overseas they are sure to take off. Go get it
